Asian Marriage Beliefs

With teenagers and their kids embracing culture and tradition, more newlyweds than ever before are turning to the Eastern territory for their great day. Whether it’s an Indian or Korean American wedding, the ceremonies are a lovely way for families to join with their history and slip on divine traditions.

One of the most important wedding traditions is the spinning of the divine fire, which translates to “your aspirations for wealth and obligation to your home are encircled by this fire”. This service is usually conducted in front of the wedding and groom’s relatives before they take their pledges.

Another common ritual is paying appreciation to the couple’s elders, which is done by the wife preparing meal for her fresh dad’s community the day after their marriage. This is a means for the bride to display her gratitude to her in- norms and to ask for their blessings.

The wife may furthermore explore her own kids for breakfast a few days after her bridal to congratulate them for raising her and provide them a donation as a form of cheers.

In the past, when Chinese couples were engaged, the groom had to pay the bride price, which was usually in the form of money, gifts or a roasted pig. The bride’s family then wished the couple a long and prosperous marriage. Tea was also served as a betrothal gift, as it is believed that the evergreen nature of the plant signifies longevity.
